The area has a lot to offer for holidaymakers. The department is hilly and is known for example for the salt and grain trade. Much silver was mined and religious wars were fought in ancient times. All this has left its traces in the area; beautiful castles and fortresses remind us of these times.

The department Deux-Sèvres offers you an authentic French atmosphere. The landscape and views change after every hill. The villages and towns are not very touristy and therefore easily accessible.
